"What is a cost of living in Ukraine?" is the type of question that I would be asking myself if I were to travel to Ukraine. Why would I want to know a cost of living in any country? Well, for me it is like a starting point when planning a travel budget. Honestly, this is the same question that appeared on my mind when I started planning a trip with my girl friend to Venezuela. I just need to make sure that I take enough money to have my back covered for the time of my stay in any country.

I live in Poltava, a city in the central part of Ukraine. Our city is not the most expensive one to live in. Kiev, which is the capital of Ukraine, is way more expensive when you think in terms of renting any type of accommodation, whether it is a hotel room or an apartment for rent. But other than that, prices for food and public transportation are almost the same. So, if you are traveling to a Ukrainian city other than Poltava, this information is still going to be relevant to your search.

Before I dive into numbers, there is one thing that I would like to point out. A cost of living differs from one person to another. It all depends on what you like doing and what is your life style.
